Watching Football at the Olympics

During the London 2012 Olympics, I went with my dad to watch a football match. It was in Manchester, at the Old Trafford football stadium, and Japan was playing against Egypt.

It took 3 hours to get to Manchester and it also took a long time to find a parking space because the parking people had overbooked the parking spaces.

When we finally got in to watch the football match we had missed the first 12 minutes of the match and 1 goal. We enjoyed the rest the football match, and there was an extra 3 minutes of extra time at the end. The final score was 3 goals to Japan and none to Egypt.

Watching the football match live was like watching a video game of a football match, it was a bit strange. There were thousands of people watching the match and during it there were many attempts at doing the Mexican wave.

After the match we went to a restaurant on Wilmslow Road. I had a chicken curry with garlic butter and some naan. Following the dinner we went to look for a mosque so that we can pray. It took a little while to find the mosque, and we accidentally went into the womens’ section at first, but we did finally did get to pray in the mens’ section.

Finally, it took 3 hours to get home. We had left at 7 in the morning and got back at about 8 in the evening. It had taken a long time and we were very tired by the end of the day, but it was worth it. However, I did ask my dad if next time we can watch a football match closer to home at Wembley Stadium.
